Larry L. Swineford, Sr.

Larry Lee Swineford Sr., 80, of Selinsgrove, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 19, 2026.

Born on August 27, 1945, Larry was the son of the late W. Carson Swineford and Martha (Reinard) Swineford. He was a lifelong resident of the Selinsgrove area and a man deeply devoted to his family and the simple joys of life.

Larry graduated from Selinsgrove Area High School in 1963. He worked as a welder for many years, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and steady hands. Larry was a proud social club member of the local VFW in Selinsgrove and the Stayman apartment community where he enjoyed camaraderie and friendship.

He had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. Larry was also a passionate sports fan. He faithfully cheered on the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, and the Penn State Nittany Lions. More than anything, however, he treasured watching his grandchildren play sports, rarely missing an opportunity to support them from the sidelines.

Larry is survived by his sons, Larry Swineford Jr. (Angela) and William Swineford (Cheri); his brother, Dennis Swineford; his grandchildren, Nathan (Jennifer), Paige, Tyler, Scott, LaDean, and Chantelle; and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Chase, Norah, Greyson, Peyton, and Emerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Todd Swineford; and his sister, Debra Egli.

Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his loyalty to family and friends, and the pride he took in those he loved. His presence at family gatherings, sporting events, and around the hunting grounds will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

At his request, no formal services will be held. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
